On Sunday, 26 May 2019 the 28th edition of Autopromotec, the biennial international aftermarket exhibition of automotive equipment, ended and delivered another successful event for Autodata.
The show attracted over 119,000 professional operators from 32 countries eager to meet and engage with the 1,676 companies who showcased their latest products and services.
During the show, Autodata took the opportunity to showcase new features, updates and significant new content it has developed since the last exhibition in 2017.
The rate of change and quantity of updates has been unprecedented – all in line with ensuring Autodata maintains its 99% coverage of the cars on the road today. Over the last two years, this has meant over 2,800 new models added and over 85,000 updates in total to new and existing vehicles.
New features which attracted strong interest on the stand included the developments around guided diagnostics. OE fixes for common faults have been integrated into Autodata’s DTC module, so as well as the standard DTC error information, additional common faults are also displayed when they connect to specific trouble codes. For those needing to go into more detail for unique issues, the system also provides logical steps to work through component locations, pin data and wiring diagrams. This all means a more efficient and more accurate approach to diagnostics.
Autodata’s new Service Schedules module for its Motorcycles product also proved very popular at the show. This significant addition means, that as well as technical information, time estimates and DTC, this product now includes OE-recommended service items – something that is becoming more important with the growing complexity of bikes.
Autodata was particularly delighted to be working with two students, Eva Castellari, & Simone Neri from Cnos-Fap of Bologna technical vocational training centre at the show. They worked alongside the Autodata team to support customers and provide information on the latest features on the product. As well as providing them both with Autodata insight it also gave both an opportunity to network with those from across the industry.
