VEHICLE: 2011 Volvo XC90

ISSUE: ‘Anti-skid service required’ warning message displayed in the instrument panel

DIAGNOSIS & SOLUTION:
A service customer of ours is experiencing an issue with their 2011 Volvo XC90. The vehicle has the warning message ‘Anti-skid service required’ displayed in the instrument panel and the cruise control is inoperative. Trouble codes 0103, 0147, C0048 are stored in the ABS/ESP control module fault memory. We do not have the information relating to these trouble codes and we are not sure if they are linked. Can you assist us?

Yes, we are aware of a fault which affects XC90 models produced 2008-13. The fault is due to a defective brake pedal travel sensor, located on the brake servo (fig. 1.1.). Fit a new brake pedal travel sensor. Erase trouble codes and carry out road test to ensure faults have been rectified.
