Autodocta – 2013 Citroën C3

VEHICLE: 2013 Citroën C3

ISSUE: Engine malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) illuminated

DIAGNOSIS & SOLUTION:
A 2013 Citroën C3 1,0 is in our workshop and has the engine malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) illuminated. There are trouble codes relating to the evaporative emission system stored in the fault memory. We are unfamiliar with the Citroen brand so we are not confident of diagnosing this fault. Have you any ideas where to start to fix this car?

Yes, from the symptoms you have described the fault is likely to be due to the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge valve. This fault affects 1,0 models up to 13/02/15 (RPO13976). Inspect the production number on the EVAP canister purge valve (fig. 1.1.). If the production number is before 15033, replace the EVAP canister purge valve with a modified version. Erase trouble codes and carry out road test to ensure faults have been rectified.
