VEHICLE: 2013 Mercedes-Benz Citan
ISSUE: Exterior lighting, direction indicators, windscreen wipers/washers and/or horn not working
DIAGNOSIS & SOLUTION:
We have a customer with a 2013 Mercedes-Benz Citan who is complaining of the exterior lighting, direction indicators, windscreen wipers/washers and the horn not working. There are no trouble codes stored in any of the control modules. We have carried out some basic wiring checks and all the fuses are OK. We are hesitant to replace any components in case a software update will fix the fault. Can you help?
Yes, we suspect the issue you are experiencing is most likely due to the steering column function control module being faulty. The issue is known to affect some Citan models produced up to 31/05/14. Fit a new steering column function control module, located behind glovebox (fig. 1.1.). This should rectify the issue.
