Autodocta – 2013 SEAT Leon

VEHICLE: 2013 SEAT Leon

ISSUE: Abnormal noise from front suspension when manoeuvring

DIAGNOSIS & SOLUTION:
We are having difficulty finding the source of an abnormal noise from the front suspension of a 2013 Seat Leon when manoeuvring. We have heard the noise on road test but have been unsuccessful in recreating the noise in the workshop. Do you have any ideas what could be causing this noise?

We are aware of an abnormal noise on Leon models without active suspension system. The noise is due to excessive friction between the front shock absorber damper rod cover and the shock absorber bump stop. Apply silicone grease, available from Seat parts department, to the contact surfaces of the shock absorber damper rod cover and the shock absorber bump stop (fig. 1.1.). Carry out road test to ensure noise has been eliminated.
