Autodata Automechanika Frankfurt 2018 – show review

Saturday 15th September saw the world’s leading automotive industry trade exhibition, Automechanika Frankfurt, come to an end, marking another successful outing for Autodata.  This year 135,000+ visitors from over 170 countries attended, all keen to meet the 5,000+ exhibitors over the course of the five day show.  This significant level of attendees and exhibitors makes 2018 the most successful Automechanika to date.

At the event, Autodata took the opportunity to unveil its new Service Schedules module for its Motorcycles product. This much awaited and customer-driven feature proved to be one of the most popular items on the stand.

Another item attracting strong interest was its recently launched Bulbs Replacement module for cars and light commercial vehicles. As well as providing a replacement guide for each type of bulb, the new module features a scale which rates the difficulty of the replacement procedure, increasing efficiency for any workshop and facilitating more accurate estimates.

Also popular was Autodata’s API product, which allows companies to integrate Autodata information into their own solutions. This has already enabled companies around the world to build new products for both workshops and car owners, all powered by Autodata.

Currently there is huge interest and focus on the automotive industry as both technology advances and sustainability issues continue to attract attention from across the world.  One of the most popular topics during the show was the increased complexity of vehicles, from both technological and maintenance perspectives.  At a well-attended presentation on Friday, Autodata delivered its view on the Digitalisation of the Workshop, where it outlined some of the business opportunities these changes offer.  A fascinated audience heard facts and figures on current technology adoption and how workshops should embrace and change with them – in order to seize the opportunities created.

For those workshops which service cars, vans and motorcycles, Autodata can be used as a complete workshop data solution, while for those who don’t, what better time is there to take the opportunity to expand your business?
