Autodocta – 2012 Range Rover Sport

VEHICLE: 2012 Range Rover Sport

ISSUE: Water ingress into front footwells

DIAGNOSIS & SOLUTION:

We are having trouble diagnosing a water ingress on a 2012 Range Rover Sport. The front footwell carpets are wet after heavy rain. We have carried out several water tests but cannot see how the water is entering the vehicle. Have you got any advice for us?

Yes, we are aware of a water ingress on Range Rover Sport models. The cause is due to an unsatisfactory design of the A-post outer trim panel locating pin seal allowing water ingress. Remove the A-post outer trim panel. Cut off the A-post outer trim panel locating pin (fig. 1.1.). Seal the bodywork alignment hole with a repair kit available from Land Rover parts department (fig. 1.2.). Repeat the procedure for the opposite side. Water test the vehicle to ensure the fault has been eliminated.
