ISSUE: Intermittent self-activation of alarm system siren
DIAGNOSIS & SOLUTION: We have a 2015 Nissan Qashqai in the workshop that we are struggling to diagnose. The alarm siren intermittently sounds for no reason. We have carried out some basic checks but cannot find the source of the fault. Is this a known fault?
Yes, we have had reports of this fault on Qashqai models. The fault is due to an unsatisfactory design of the alarm system in the car movement sensor. Remove interior lamps assembly and fit a new alarm system in the car movement sensor (fig. 1.1.). This should eliminate the fault.
