ISSUE: Squeaking noise from RH C pillar area when driving
DIAGNOSIS & SOLUTION:
A customer of ours has a 2015 Vauxhall Astra and they are complaining of a squeaking noise from the RH rear when driving. We have heard the squeaking noise on road test but we have been unable to find the source of the noise in the workshop. Can you help?
We are aware of the fault you have described and it is due to insufficient clearance between the RH rear door catch lower retaining bolt and the vehicle body. Remove the lower retaining bolt from the RH rear door catch (fig. 1.1.). Modify the retaining bolt by cutting off the end section. Shorten the retaining bolt by 1,5 mm (fig. 1.2.). Refit the retaining bolt and tighten to correct torque. Carry out road test to ensure noise has been eliminated.
