New high voltage component warnings added to help improve safety when working on electric and hybrid vehicles
More than 1 million electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles are expected to be sold across Europe next year and projected to account for an estimated 30% of all new vehicle sales by 2025.
To help the automotive aftermarket adapt to this rapidly changing market, Autodata is investing in new vehicle content and safety practices to ensure workshops can work with confidence on electric and hybrid vehicles.
This month, we have added new high voltage component warnings to our popular ‘Electrical component locations’ diagrams. These potentially dangerous components are now instantly recognisable by their (ISO) high voltage symbol on the diagram. Some of the first vehicle models to benefit from these diagrams include: Toyota Yaris Hybrid Synergy Drive, Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, Volkswagen Golf VII GTE and Hyundai Kona Electric. This latest update follows on from the recent additions of our Hybrid/Electric vehicle warning message when working with or around high voltage components and the introduction of new drive system wiring diagrams for electric and hybrid vehicles.
Autodata’s constant evolution of the product helps technicians to work in a safer and more secure manner on the electric and hybrid vehicles visiting their workshops.
