VEHICLE: 2016 Peugeot 5008
ISSUE: Lack of power with trouble codes P0405 and P1461
DIAGNOSIS & SOLUTION:
We have a 2016 Peugeot 5008 2,0 Diesel in the workshop with the engine malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) illuminated. Trouble codes stored in the fault memory relate to the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system. We have had a look at the EGR system and cannot see a blockage anywhere. Have you got any ideas?
Yes, the fault you described has been reported before for the Peugeot 5008 with DW10FD engine code and ML6C transmission code. The cause of the problem is an unsatisfactory design of the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve assembly. Fit a modified exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve assembly (fig. 1.1.). To complete this repair the engine control module (ECM) will require reprogramming with upgraded software from the manufacturer. Carry out road test to ensure the fault has been eliminated.
