01 January 2020, Bracknell – Autodata, part of Solera Holdings, Inc., a global leader in risk and asset management data and software solutions for the insurance and automotive industries, today announced the publication of its Most Serviced Vehicles 2019 report.
In the UK, the most serviced car was the Opel/Vauxhall Corsa-D which retained its first position from last year’s report. The Ford Fiesta (model year 2013) moved up to second position from eighth replacing the Ford Focus (model year 2004 & model year 2008) which dropped to third position. The most serviced Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) was once again the Ford Transit (model year 2006) and the most serviced motorcycle was the Honda CBR.
As well as highlighting the most serviced vehicles, the report indicates some key trends in the automotive aftermarket sector. When all markets are combined, Ford was the overall most serviced manufacturer. However, a notable observation is the continued prominence of Volkswagen which is in first place as the most serviced brand in 55% of the countries surveyed. Ford was the most serviced brand in the UK.
The report also reinforces the dominance of national brands being the most serviced cars within their respective countries. In Germany, all top ten places were attributed to German cars and it was the same for French cars in France. In Italy, Italian cars made up 50% of the top ten and in Sweden, Swedish cars accounted for 70% of the top ten with Volvo models filling the top three positions.
In the UK, Japanese manufacturers continue to dominate the top 10 most serviced Hybrid vehicles filling nine out of the ten positions with the Mitsubishi Outlander (12-) retaining its first position from last year’s report. The Nissan Leaf (Ze0) (10-18) was in first place for the third report in a row as the most serviced electric vehicle. The Tesla Model S (13-), after having not appeared in the top 10 in the either of the last two reports was in second place. It is also in second place internationally demonstrating the continued rise in popularity of the Tesla marque across all markets.
Internationally, the Most Serviced Car Report 2019 was also topped by the Opel/Vauxhall Corsa-D with the Ford Focus (model year 2004 & model year 2008) remaining in second and the Nissan Qashqai/Qashqai +2 (J10) was third. The most serviced Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) was the VW Transporter T5 (04-15) which retains first place for the third report in a row, while the most serviced motorcycle was the Honda CBR.
Over 85,000 workshops subscribe to Autodata’s applications which generate this report. Globally, the top three most accessed Autodata product modules included Engine oil, Technical specifications and Camshaft drive system. In total technicians checked over 47 million pieces of technical information through Autodata.
