For the third consecutive year, the Ford Focus (04-08) was the most serviced car in the UK.
For the first time Autodata, Europe’s leading provider of automotive technical information, has published an industry report that shares not only the top 10 most serviced cars in the UK, but also the top 10 most serviced LCVs; motorcycles; hybrids; petrol and diesel vehicles this year in the 20 countries (21 for motorcycles) with the highest usage of Autodata’s technical information.
The Ford Focus was the world’s top-selling car worldwide in 2004 and the top-selling car in the UK from 1998 until 2009, when it was dethroned by the Ford Fiesta. Considering that there are more than 1.5 million Ford Focuses on UK roads, it’s no surprise that it is currently the most popular model seen in UK garages.

The previous version, the Ford Focus (98) and the later version, the Ford Focus (11) were also featured in the UK’s top 20 most serviced cars this year.
Alongside the Ford Focus (04-08), 14 of the top 100 most serviced cars in the UK this year were Fords. 38 of the top 100 most serviced cars in the UK were German automobile brands, 18 were French, 14% were American, 10 were Japanese, 9 were British, 3 were Italian, 3 were Swedish, 3 were Czech, and 2 were Spanish.
The top five most accessed automotive technical information topics by UK workshops this year were Technical Specifications (vehicle identification, ignitions system, fuel system, etc.), Repair times, Cam-shaft Drive System, Engine Oil, and service schedules.
Over 73% of all UK garages subscribe to Autodata’s online workshop application. The top 10 lists are based on the number of service schedules accessed by Autodata’s UK subscribers.
