Autodata was one of the first companies to identify the need for an accurate all-in-one automotive technical information solution for the aftermarket over 42 years ago. Since then, the company has grown to become the leading provider of automotive technical data worldwide.
Last year, Autodata added a total of 1,290 new vehicle models to their workshop application for cars and vans and made a total of 35,996 updates to new and existing models in the product. As well as a record number of updates to their online workshop application, the company launched several new modules, features, and enhancements including Quick Links, Change Brakes, and several procedure guides. Autodata went even further last year by revamping the online workshop application and by launching the world’s first online technical data application for motorcycles.
This year is set to be even more beneficial for workshops, as Autodata plans to launch new modules and features that will undoubtedly further increase workshop efficiency. Autodata has revealed that they will introduce at least one new key feature in the workshop application every month, beginning with a brand new ‘Service Summary’ module which will be launched in January.
The new Service Summary module is yet another time-saving initiative by Autodata to increase workshop efficiency. The new module makes is even easier to quickly identify when key service operations, such as the recommended intervals for belt replacement; spark plug renewal; fluid replacement; and filter renewal need to be carried out. It also provides possibilities to ‘up-sell’ additional work based on the manufacturer’s recommendations and is particularly useful to provide quick quotes.
By the end of 2017, Autodata will make more than 30,000 updates to new and existing models, as well as over 300 software enhancements to further improve the features of their products.
