About Autodata: In numbers

The way we consume data has developed through the digital age, and companies present at the start of this have the advantage of experience, legacy and a name that can transcend the electronic period.

This applies to Autodata, which was launched in 1972. Since then, we have moved with the market, with our first online product released in 2006, before our API and web application went live in 2014.

In this time, we have built a comprehensive database, utilising our knowledge and expertise to provide repair information and diagnostic data solutions to garages across the UK and beyond. Today, Autodata covers over 175 vehicle manufacturers, with more than 50,000 models in our comprehensive offering.

We do not just gather information from carmakers and push it through to technicians. Instead, our experts research each vehicle in-depth, sourcing information from testing and dealership visits to understand the nuances. This helps to provide additional information, such as potential fixes, component test results, and detailed high-resolution wiring diagrams.

Maintaining efficiency

However, despite the level of detail that we provide, our system is extremely user-friendly and easy to navigate. It is designed to allow technicians to diagnose vehicle faults quickly, while also providing information on known faults and estimated labour times for standard jobs.

This makes it an all-around tool that garages can use to improve efficiency in their day-to-day work. No matter if the job involves a car, a van or a motorbike, the data required to find and fix issues is available on the platform.

Autodata conducts market research and gathers data on each model it adds to its database, extracting key information that will help repairers. Our team then standardise this information, meaning common phrases, components and descriptions are the same across every vehicle on the platform. This saves technicians time, with no need to decipher manufacturer-specific jargon.

Illustrations are also added wherever possible to highlight repair procedures, another time-saving offer from the platform.

Constantly updated

The dedication to the market means that we produce 40,000 updates each year, and 400 new illustrations a month, ensuring technicians have the latest and best information to maintain and service thousands of models.

Our information covers over 30 technical subjects, with 700,000 technical step-by-step plans to guide vehicle repairers further.

With the automotive market constantly changing, we work hard to ensure that the latest models are added to their database when the information is required by the aftermarket.
