Stay sharp: New EV training now available

EV and hybrid servicing requires more than just tools—it takes the right knowledge. Explore our updated training modules, including a new lesson on High Voltage Interlock Loops (HVIL), now live on the Autodata platform.

When it comes to electric and hybrid vehicles, proper training is more important than ever. Technicians must stay up to date not only with evolving repair procedures, but also with the safe handling of high-voltage systems and complex components unique to these vehicles.

To support this, we continuously review and expand our training resources, adding new, practical content designed specifically for modern workshop environments. Our goal is to help workshops stay ahead and carry out EV and hybrid servicing work with confidence and precision.

Understanding High Voltage Interlocks

One key area of focus is the High Voltage Interlock Loop (HVIL) — a critical safety system built into hybrid and electric vehicles. HVIL circuits help protect both the vehicle and the technician by constantly monitoring the integrity of the high-voltage system. If a fault or disconnection is detected, the system automatically isolates the battery from the powertrain to prevent electric shock or damage.

Our latest update to the EV Electrical & Control Systems training course dives into how HVIL systems function, what to check during diagnosis, and how to safely address common circuit faults and diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).

This new content is now available on the Autodata platform, alongside a wide range of technical training materials covering diagnostics, chassis systems, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), electrical components, and more.
