Autodata, a leading global automotive technical information provider has released its Most Serviced Vehicle Report 2018. In the UK, the most serviced car was the Opel/Vauxhall Corsa-D which moved above the Ford Focus (04/08) now second. The Opel/Vauxhall Astra-H remains in third. The most serviced Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) was the Ford Transit (06) The most serviced motorcycle was the Honda CBF 125.
As well as highlighting the most serviced vehicles, the report indicates some key trends in the automotive aftermarket sector. A notable observation is the increased prominence of Volkswagen, whose models featured highly in more countries when compared with last year. The report also indicates that while more VWs are being serviced in more countries, the alternative fuel vehicle searches are dominated by Japanese marques.
In the report, the UK appears to have really taken to Electric Vehicles (EVs) with proportionally more EVs serviced here than any other country. This could be attributed in part to growing concern from the general public and increased legislation from the government in areas of environmental matters. It will also be interesting to see how the reported record drop in new car sales in September affects the automotive aftermarket in 2019, as owners hold on to their vehicles for longer.
Internationally, the Most Serviced Car Report 2018 was topped by the Opel/Vauxhall Astra-H. The Ford Focus (04-08) moves down to second, and the BMW 3 Series (E90/91/92/93) (05-14) was third. The most serviced Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) was the VW Transporter T5 (04-15) which retains first place, while the most serviced motorcycle was the Yamaha YZF YZF-R1.
